Shipwreks From The Egyptian Red Sea: By Ned Middleton...
I have now spent over 8 years engaged in dedicated research into the many shipwrecks which are found in this part of the world. There are nineteen major featured shipwrecks - including two which are only recently discovered. These are followed by brief details of another eighteen vessels which were too small to be classified as ships - tugboats, barges etc. Finally, I have included brief details of approx. 250 additional vessels that are either not yet discovered, far too deep for scuba divers or never even existed...
Several important factors set this book apart from other works; Firstly, accuracy of information. Each subject shipwreck has been studied and scrutinised in great detail to provide the reader with the best possible assessment. Secondly, Rico Oldfield - a marine artist of the highest calibre, has illustrated each of the major shipwrecks. These had to be photographed from end to end in order to produce him with an accurate montage from which to work. The result will move shipwreck guides for scuba divers onto a new and higher plane as all other publishers rush to compete. Altogether, over 62,000 words, 23 works of art, 50 historic photographs, 1,000 original colour slides plus a number of charts, letters and other documents were all submitted to the publishers for them to consider.
With much new information and plenty of myths destroyed, this book will prove to be a very good read for diver and non-diver alike.
My very best wishes.
